Best Beginnings Announce Next Stage of Small Wonders DVD at Chelsea Lunch

50 people attended an exclusive lunch on 5th September at the Wyndham Grand Hotel in Chelsea Harbour to celebrate the penultimate stage in the launch of Best Beginnings new Small Wonders DVD to help the parents of premature and sick babies.

This DVD which will help support and inform parents of premature and sick babies follows on from the success of Best Beginnings breast feeding DVD “From Bump to Breastfeeding” which is given out to mother’s to be at 36 weeks by their midwives. The DVD will officially launch in the New Year, and following stakeholder reviews of the initial rough-cut Best Beginnings are now starting the first of a series of Parent and Practitioner Champion projects in neo-natal units funded by the Department of Health.

Parents of premature babies who feature in the film Sinem Hussein and Carla and Andre Morrag introduced their babies Nico and Drea and spoke emotionally about their time in hospital and the importance of this DVD for future parents in similar circumstances. I introduced the DVD, describing the work of Best Beginnings and the advice and support provided to new parents to help reduce child health inequalities and give them the best possible start in life.

The Best Beginnings lunch was kindly hosted by Annie Lady Ricketts and Lizzie Jones.
