Best Beginnings at the Royal College of Midwives Annual Conference
22 November 2011
On the 15th and 16th of November 2011, the Best Beginnings Get Britian Breastfeeding Art Exhibition was on display at the Royal College of Midwives Annual Conference. The exhibition was seen by over eight hundreds of midwives who attended the conference.
Get Britain Breastfeeding is an interactive exhibition of work by design students created to 'rebrand' breastfeeding for the parents of tomorrow. The exhibition features posters created by artists from Central Saint Martin’s College of Art & Design.
The exhibition also features a collection of postcards from the D&AD Student Awards where Best Beginnings challenged young artists to promote breastfeeding to the parents of tomorrow through designing a postcard.
Both posters and postcards are available at Best Beginnings'
online shop
.
Best Beginnings' CEO Alison Baum and trustee Francesca Entwistle gave a presentation at the conference. The presentation was about our upcoming DVD for parents of sick and premature babies "Small Wonders".
Alison said, "We were delighted to have the opportunity to present at this eminent conference and engage our midwifery colleagues in the plans for the Small Wonders project and the pivotal role they can play in its success. The response was overwhelmingly positive with many midwives nominating themselvesas Small Wonders Champions. Small Wonders is going to be such a valuable resource for parents and healthcare professionals alike. We look forward to its launch in spring 2012."
Alison tweeted throughout the conference. To follow her on Twitter, please go to
