Hello everyone!

I want to share a little bit about what I got up to this week.

First of all, I would like to say thank you to everyone who was in the office on Tuesday and took a moment to say hi and speak to me it was great to finally meet some of the team members and I already feel part of the team!

This week, it was exciting to be invited to the House of Lords. It was my first time there and the experience was amazing.  It was really lovely to spend time with some of the staff members and engage a little bit with the boys from City of London School and our interns.

I also thought it was really beneficial to get to hear Alison speak about her past and how the charity came about.  I have read about Best Beginnings on the website but I feel like I know a lot more after hearing Alison talk and go through the snippets of her journey. It was nice to hear the city boys asking questions and genuinely being interested. It was lovely to meet Baroness Butler-Sloss who made us all laugh and the Earl of Listowel who took a genuine interest in each one of us, and took the time out to speak with us individually.

On Wednesday and Thursday for some hours, I was at the NUH where I spoke to 24 mothers and couple of fathers. We had couple of issues with the WiFi and some mothers had forgotten their password for their App Store but I helped 5 mums and 1 dad download the Baby Buddy app and some said they would do it when they got home! :)

One of the fathers that downloaded the app said it would be nice if one of the avatars was a male figure, as he selected father and then had to choose from a female avatar.

I also visited Newham Medical Centre to drop off some more leaflets, and left some leaflets at the hospital Antenatal Clinic and the Maternity Bookings area.  I went back to Oliver Thomas Children Centre and look forward to discussing future collaboration as part of our community leaders project.

Wishing you all a restful weekend!
