What a few weeks!

2015 has got off to an incredible start. We’ve been busy filming for our maternal mental health film project including a number of films that will go into Baby Buddy.

To-date more than 16,000 people have downloaded our Baby Buddy app and more than 90,000 free posters and leaflets have been delivered to over 80 areas across the country. Local areas have started sending us their local services to include in the Bump Around and Baby Around features of the app and our in-depth embedding is well underway in a number of areas.

Last week my fabulous team of expert facilitators (mostly health visitors and midwives) ran five communications workshops about Baby Buddy. They were in Bradford, Blackpool, Lewisham and Guys and St Thomas.

Next week is going to be quite a week;

On Tuesday we have the Press preview at the Design Museum for the AXA PPP Health Tech & You Awards. Best Beginnings is very proud to be short-listed – we’ll have to wait a couple of weeks to find out who has won.

On Wednesday (March 11^th) it is NHS Change Day and we have a special Baby Buddy Action that I invite everyone to get involved in. Click here to find out how.

On Change Day I am off to Lewisham for their official launch of Baby Buddy in Lewisham. It is set to be a fantastic event with young parents and multi-disciplinary professionals. I’m so delighted that Dr Ranj (Paediatrician and TV doctor from This Morning, CBeebies and more) will be opening the event and a wonderful 2 year old called Noah will officially be launching Baby Buddy.

From Lewisham, me and many of the Best Beginnings team will be heading to Kingston hospital to take part in their day long Change Day activities. We’ll be running a workshop at 4.00pm.

Thursday is another packed day. In the morning we have our Baby Buddy app Stakeholder Day and in the afternoon our Baby Buddy Editorial Board meeting. As you may know, no new content goes into Baby Buddy without it first being approved by our Editorial Board and our parent group. We’ve got lots of new film clips that will be coming live in Baby Buddy in the coming weeks.
