Best Beginnings has published the illustrated version of the charity’s 2009-2010 accounts, which show unprecedented income for the year.

Best Beginnings’ financial year runs from August 1st to July 31st. The accounts were submitted to the Charity Commission on October 27th 2010.

The timeliness with which the accounts were submitted shows the smooth and efficient running of the charity's financial systems. The growth is thanks to the generous support of our funders and contributors, as well as the continued hard work undertaken by our staff.

Despite the unfavourable financial climate, Best Beginnings’ total incoming resources showed substantial growth with a 32.6% increase on the previous year to £458,698.

"Our financial statements for the year ended 31 July 2010 show that the team has increased incoming resources by £113,000 on the previous financial year. They have also kept a strong hold on our outgoings.” said Best Beginnings Treasurer and Trustee Hannah Mindel. “This is a clear financial indicator of the hard work and effort the team have put in!”

Of every £1 donated to Best Beginnings nearly 85p was spent giving every baby in the UK the healthiest possible start in life. £302,200, or 84.6% of expenditure, was spent on our charitable activities, 12.5% of expenditure was spent on fundraising with the remaining 2.9% being spent on governance.
