Welcome to the Baby Buddy Comms Pack

We have created this pack to provide you with all the information you need to invite the parents, professionals and/or volunteers you work with and your wider network to be part of the exciting “beta-testing” phase of Baby Buddy 2.0, prior to its formal launch in the Autumn. We’ve provided draft/suggested wording for you to adapt as you see fit for your network/organisation, including:

Baby Buddy is a free, NHS-approved pregnancy and parenting app created by the charity @bestbeginnings - that’s been used by over 300,000 families across the UK.

Baby Buddy will guide you through your pregnancy and parenting journey, with daily information as well as access to hundreds of bite-size videos and articles on things like breastfeeding, your baby’s health, your own health, mental health and more. You can manage your appointments and keep notes and questions for your healthcare professional.

Baby Buddy is growing up!

Baby Buddy is the NHS-approved app created by the charity Best Beginnings that supports parents through their pregnancy and parenting journey with daily information, videos, articles and tools to make life as a new parent or expectant easier. It is endorsed by a number of Royal Colleges and leading healthcare organisations and experts.

This summer, the Best Beginnings team have released a new, beta version of the award-winning app, Baby Buddy 2.0 and invite all health and family professionals to try it, share with families you work with and most importantly, give your feedback on the app.

New features in the app include:

  • Bite-sized daily information and support up to baby’s first birthday – Baby Buddy 1.0 only covered 6 months.
  • Birth choice planning tools
  • Daily personalised information for dads and other non-birthing parents
  • Shared spaces where professionals and families can save and share questions, articles and videos

Pregnant people can find information about places they can give birth to help you plan your birth. Parents can use the app to create a digital health record for your child and share information and notes with healthcare professionals. Professionals have their own dedicated app experience where we’ve set up a demonstration family so you can explore how the app works and can support your work and the families you work with.
