Philly Campbell

Hi, I'm Philly and I'm supporting the charity Best Beginnings and would love your support too to help me raise money for this worthy cause. So best I start at the beginning and tell you why...

As a mum to 2 girls aged 5 and 7 and a Personal Trainer, I've run 2 Marathons for charity and 2 Marathons recently on a Good For Age place. Last year I had a few injuries so was unsure if I would run or not. My training had suffered and I wasn't focussed until I saw The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry’s coverage for Mind Over Marathon which was inspiring.

Best Beginnings were chosen to be part of the ‪#‎headstogether‬ campaign because of the support and information they offer through projects and resources, particularly about keeping mentally and physically healthy during pregnancy and beyond. After I crossed the finish line and headed straight for a bite to eat I amazingly (maybe it was fate, maybe it was meant to be) bumped into some of the lovely ladies from Best Beginnings. I told them my story and they made a short video (see below). We kept in touch and now I feel very, very privileged and honoured to have been invited into the team and will be running the 2018 London Marathon for Best Beginnings.

So your support would be gratefully received ... to raise money for this amazing charity and to get me round my 5th Marathon!

Love Philly x

About Best Beginnings

For the last ten years, Best Beginnings has been working tirelessly to reduce inequalities in child health and to give every child in the UK the best start. We work closely with parents, leading healthcare professionals, royal colleges, other charities and the Department of Health to create innovative evidence-based resources, including our free multi-award-winning Baby Buddy app.

Best Beginnings' resources are designed through our tried and tested process of co-creation to give parents of all backgrounds the knowledge and confidence they need to look after their own mental and physical health and to maximise their child's development. Baby Buddy is currently aimed at mothers and covers the period from conception to a when a child is six months old.

Collaboration is one of Best Beginnings' guiding principles and they work with many individuals and organisations, including grant-giving trusts and foundations, the NHS, local authorities, and ethical corporate partners to support and promote the charity's work.

In their first decade as a charity Best Beginnings has reached more than two million families.
