Baby Buddy wins the Guardian Public Service's Digital and Technology Award

Best Beginnings, wins the prestigious Guardian Public Service award for 'Digital and Technology' for Baby Buddy.

Baby Buddy provides parents personalised support and a "digital best friend" to support them in their journey to parenthood and for the first six months after their baby is born. A number of factors distinguish Baby Buddy from other parity apps that are available for parents to download which is why the app has now claimed a number awards since it was first launched by Best Beginnings in November 2014.

Baby Buddy and all its content has been developed in collaboration with parents, royal colleges, healthcare professionals and other health organisations so all the information is verified best practice. It contains more than 200 short video clips of parents sharing their stories and midwives and doctors offering reassuring information and signposting support including those from Best Beginnings current campaign Our Chance. A parent panel ensures that all the content is tonally appropriate and easy to understand. Everything in the app has a purpose, even the fun features such as "bump book" that allows you to tweet a selfie of your bump directly from the app, is designed to enhance bonding with your baby.
