They Call Me Dad Evaluation They Call Me Dad is a Movember-funded project that aims to improve the mental health and wellbeing of gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (GBTQ) dads, intended dads, and those who identify as dads. Over the last year, we have engaged with more than 40 GBTQ+ dads to support the development of this content and we have filmed with 14 dads to create a suite of new films for our Baby Buddy app. The new LGBTQ+ pathways and content will be available in Baby Buddy later in 2024. To make sure our content is impactful and relevant, we are asking dads, prospective dads (and anyone interested) to help evaluate the content we have made. This evaluation is to support Best Beginnings and our funders, to understand the reach and impact of the resources. It is also an exclusive opportunity to view the films we have made six months ahead of general release. They Call Me Dad - Pilot Release Each module below links to a survey where you will be able to see two short films and then complete a set of questions. The questions ask you about the content's impact on your wellbeing, as well as what you think of them. You can look at one module or all of them - it's your choice! The information is gathered and analysed anonymously and shared only as an aggregate. This means we don’t share any data on individuals but as a summary of the whole. You can view more about how we process your data here. Adoption Adoption is an increasingly popular option for GBTQ+ dads in the UK, with around 25% of adopters now identifying as LGBTQ+. Select this option and you can view and feedback on the content we have made on the matching process and a child’s first year in their forever home. Complete this module Surrogacy Surrogacy is becoming more widely available both in the UK and abroad, with many GBTQ+ dads choosing it as their route to making a family. Select this option and you can view and feedback on the content we have made on pregnancy and a child’s first year. Complete this module Trans Birthing COMING SOON! Many trans-masculine people decide to start a family through pregnancy, though this experience is still under-represented and widely misunderstood. Later in the spring we will be releasing 3 films we made with trans dads about their experiences. GBTQ+ Dads Mental Health Making time for self-care is a tricky task for any new parent, and for GBTQ+ dads there can often be additional factors such as isolation and stigma that make life harder. Select this module and you can view and feedback on the content we have made to support all GBTQ+ dads.
