Baby Buddy for dads

‘You need practical information, but it’s not as if you’re learning how to fix a car, it needs to feel human! It’s really nice to see some topics that are more about reassurance. It’s a change from the pressure of telling you how to do things’ (First time new dad)

Becoming a dad is a huge and wonderful life change, but it can feel like quite a challenge too. There’s a whole lot to learn. And while mums may get support from friends and family, healthcare professionals and mum-friendly resources like the free parenting app, Baby Buddy, it sometimes seems like there’s not much out there to help dads.

However, Baby Buddy also has articles and videos created just for dads. They can download the app and get daily bite-sized snippets of information tailored to their needs, with valuable help for the parenting journey.

With each new day, our parent app users get to explore a new topic, in areas such as:

  • Baby’s development
  • Labour and birth
  • Caring for your baby
  • Dad’s mental health and wellbeing
  • Helping parents to build strong family relationships

These top parenting tips, articles and videos will help dads to feel supported and boost their confidence to get involved with every stage of pregnancy, labour, birth and beyond.

Our new dads’ content has been created in partnership with four fantastic fathers’ organisations: Fatherhood Institute, Future Men, Music Football Fatherhood and Dadvengers.  Together with Future Men we spoke to dads from diverse backgrounds to build a detailed understanding of fathers’ current experiences, the information they are seeking and the challenges they are facing.

We commissioned Fatherhood Institute to write Daily Information entries for us and worked with both partners to ensure that the content was relevant, inclusive and engaging.

Building on our library of content for fathers, in 2022 we created new series of films in collaboration with Music Football Fatherhood and Dadvengers which focus on the experiences of real-life dads who share practical tips and an insight into their relationships and support networks.

All 600+ entries and videos have also been reviewed by our expert Editoril Board of healthcare professionals who ensure that every piece of information is up to date and in line with the latest evidence and best practice.

The videos and articles will help you to build your parenting skills, no matter what your parenting style.
