Interns and Volunteers

Our volunteers and interns are at the heart of what we do. Our work depends on a wonderful network of people from different backgrounds and walks of life who freely give us the benefit of their time, skills and energy. You can read testimonials from our volunteers and interns here.

General volunteer positions

  • Events: We frequently need people all over the country to support with events from marathons to balls to conferences.
  • Content/Marketing/Social Media: If you're a designer, analyst, marketer, film producer, copywriter, photographer or animator we would love to hear from you.
  • Healthcare Professionals: We work across the country with multidisciplinary teams of healthcare professionals and we are always working to build our networks and explore opportunities.
  • Admin and office support: We are a small team with big ambitions and we are always looking for extra support with bid writing, data entry, admin and office support.

To become part of the Best Beginnings family, please fill out our Volunteer Request Form.

Join our Parent Panel

The Parent Panel are our volunteers that help us to shape the 'voice' of our resources, particularly Baby Buddy app. The Parent Panel is made up of parents from across the UK who want to play a role in creating content that supports families across the country using Baby Buddy app. Volunteer from the comfort on your own home and join a parent community that wants to pay it forward and make a difference for future generations. Learn more here about our Parent Panel and how to register.

Volunteer as a Crisis Counsellor at Shout

Shout is the UK’s first free 24/7 direct messaging service for anyone in crisis anytime, anywhere.

This service already exists in the US as ‘Crisis Text Line’, but this is the first time this tried and tested technology has come to the UK.  Shout is powered by a team of volunteers who are at the heart of this service.  We take people from crisis to calm every day of the week.

Best Beginnings offers a Crisis Messenger text in support service powered by Shout in Baby Buddy app for parents and parents-to-be experiencing painful emotions or a crisis.

For more information and to sign up, visit Shout.

Internships

A Best Beginnings internship is a fantastic way to gain valuable first-hand experience of digital, charity and UK health-care sectors. If this is where your ambitions lie, time spent with us will be an impressive addition to your CV.

We are always interested in speaking with university students regarding summer/post-graduate opportunities, as well as people interested in career changes, who combine energy and initiative with a real desire to improve the futures of children in the UK.

Areas of particular interest include:

  • Frontend/backend development
  • Public health
  • PR/Marketing/Social Media
  • Graphic design
  • Embryology
  • Events management

If you think you'd be a good fit, please fill out and submit this form.
