I took to the stage on Friday 23 October to share the work of Best Beginnings at the annual Rotary 1130 District Conference in Eastbourne.

I spoke to over 50 delegates about my personal journey and how Best Beginnings was founded, our work with mums and healthcare professionals, and how we are striving to provide accessible and reliable information to mums and partners across the UK.

Young mum and Ambassador for Best Beginnings Emilie-Mai MacCormack also spoke about how, during her difficult journey, she had benefited from the Small Wonders programme and the Baby Buddy app.

Other members of the Best Beginnings team spoke to familiar faces and speakers Christine Hamilton and Dr Dawn Porter (Embarrassing Bodies), and we’re looking forward to seeing Dr Porter again next month.

We were exhibiting throughout the weekend alongside other charities, and our thanks go to Philip Nelson, Best Beginnings Trustee, who enthusiastically manned the stand with Helen Daly, Project Coordinator.

Well done to our raffle winner Walter Hendry, and huge thank you to Best Beginnings Patron Lady March for donating the superb golfing prize at Goodwood!

Thanks go to Rotary 1130 for organising a fantastic three day event, and we hope to see you at local events and talks so we can work together in closing the gap in child health inequalities.
