On Thursday March 15th healthcare professionals, stakeholders in maternity and mental healthcare, and members of the community came together for the Baby Buddy™ event: ‘Norwich Communities working together on Maternal Mental Health’. The keynote speaker of the event was Rt Hon Norman Lamb MP which was unfortunately ill. However, he sent a video message supporting the work that has been done in the Norwich community on maternal mental health. See below:

The event was to celebrate the positive impact that healthcare professionals and locally based community organisations can have on perinatal mental health in Norfolk. As part of the event, Best Beginnings recognised the work of multidisciplinary professionals and community champions in Norfolk using our Baby Buddy™ app as a tool to support parents and parents-to-be.

Carly Bond, Head of Operations at Best Beginnings said,

This event is an important opportunity, as it is creating a public space for maternity professionals and local communities to come together, where we can explore what role we can each play in understanding and supporting those living with maternal mental health issues in Norwich.”

Matt, our Project Coordinator, shared his thoughts after the event:

We met over 50 amazing people in Norwich last night. Health Care Providers, peer supporters and other members of the community that care about improving maternal mental health. The energy is there; I hope that Baby Buddy can continue working to support this energy!”
