Sheringham Children’s Centre hosts Perinatal Mental Health workshop in Newham

Sheringham Children’s Centre, in Newham, is innovative in its approach to preventative care. The centre is the first organisation in East London to be formally promoting the Baby Buddy app as a means to support mums and mums-to-be in their patch.

Already supporting 5,000 children and their parents in Newham, Sheringham Children's Centre has now integrated Baby Buddy as a tool for parents to access reliable information in the palm of their hand.

Workshop on February 16th exploring the best ways to support parents' mental health in Newham

Most recently, 20 Children’s Centre practitioners and Health Visitors came together to build on their skills to support good practice around perinatal mental health. The workshop on February 16th was hosted by Best Beginnings and used films from the Out of the Blue series as a framework to explore the best ways to support parents’ mental health in Newham.

Now trained as Baby Buddy Champions, the practitioners and HVs of Sheringham Children’s Centre plan to incorporate the films in Baby Buddy films on perinatal mental health in group classes with parents as well as in one-to-one sessions.

Baby Buddy Launch in April

On April 11th, 11am - 1pm, Sheringham Children’s Centre will host an informal Baby Buddy Launch event to celebrate the work of their Baby Buddy Champions and to introduce more parents to this resource!
