Baby Buddy’s Bump Around and Baby Around feature is now live, and Best Beginnings is excited to offer the opportunity to feature places from your local area in the Baby Buddy app.

What does the Bump Around and Baby Around feature do?

Bump Around and Baby Around is designed to help mums and mums-to-be find services nearby by searching on a map either of their current location (as determined by their phone’s GPS) or of a postcode that they have searched for. If they are looking for somewhere in particular they can narrow their search down by category of place.

What kinds of services are we adding to the Baby Buddy app?

Best Beginnings are keen to share details of local service provision within Baby Buddy. These services should be:

  • relevant to pregnant families and new parents
  • accessible to all
  • free at point of use or require only a small, nominal fee (e.g. those provided by the NHS, a local authority or charity)

We particularly welcome charities to contact us to discuss how Baby Buddy can showcase your services; please contact We do not feature corporate, paid-for services in Baby Buddy.

How can I add my information?

There are two ways to request that your information is added into the app:

You can suggest a single place through the app itself by tapping "Add Place" within the Bump Around or Baby Around feature.

  • If there are lots of places you would like us to feature, we have an Excel form for you to fill out with the information to go into Baby Buddy. You can even include pictures and logos for each place.  For more information and to have a form sent to you, please email

All suggested content for Bump Around and Baby Around must reviewed and approved by Best Beginnings staff, so any place you suggest will not appear right away, and may not be featured at all. If we decide not to feature your suggested place within the app, we will email you to let you know.

What places currently feature in Baby Buddy?

Bump Around and Baby Around currently features data drawn primarily from NHS Choices, which lists locations nationwide of useful places like clinics, support services, places to exercise. Best Beginnings is offering local authorities, NHS organisations and charities the opportunity to supplement the syndicated NHS information with their own data.
