Your baby has learnt quite a lot about what you like and don't like her to do...and she can use this to tease you.

Watch her. Does she sometimes head straight for a rubbish basket, looking round to see if you notice her? Does she drop things from the pram or the high chair, and then wait and maybe shout to get you pick them up again?

She's experimenting to see where the limits are. She's thinking, in her own way, 'Last time I went for this bin, they moved me away from it...I wonder if they'll do it again? Let's find out!'

She's not being naughty – she’s playing and exploring the world and seeing what happens. If you want to stop her doing it, make sure it doesn’t turn into a game. Otherwise she'll do it over and over, just for the fun of it, and to get your attention! Next time you take her away, do it calmly and quietly, and distract her with something else just as interesting.
